What we are

Mastery Tutors connects families with private tutors we have vetted, cleared and observed, for lessons online or at your home, and handles the booking, payment and record-keeping in between. The teaching itself is delivered by independent tutors, not by us.

Money

You pay per lesson, by mobile money, and only after we have matched you with a tutor and they have accepted your time. There is no subscription and no joining fee. We hold your payment and release the tutor's share only after the lesson has happened and their written report is in.

If a lesson does not happen — a cancellation or a no-show — we contact you on the number you booked with and put it right with you directly. Nothing is kept for a lesson that did not take place.

Pay only through the platform. Any money paid to a tutor outside this process is money we cannot protect — there is no record of it, no hold on it and nothing we can put right. A tutor who asks a family to pay them another way is removed from our service.

Vetting, honestly stated

Every tutor matched to you has been vetted — identity and quality checked by us, in person, before they ever meet your child. That vetting seriously reduces risk; no vetting can eliminate it. For lessons at home we ask that the tutor works where the family can see and hear them, and we encourage you to sit in on any first lesson.

Your side of it

Every booking is made on a phone number verified with a one-time code — it is how we confirm, deliver reports and know who we are talking to. Tell us early when a time will not work, and tell us at once if anything about a lesson concerns you. We suspend first and ask questions after.
