Questions parents ask

What families ask us before they book — matching, money, safety and what happens when something is not right.

How quickly can my child be matched with a tutor?

Usually days, not weeks — it depends on the subject and your area. We would rather take a few days and send someone properly vetted than send anyone tomorrow, and we will tell you honestly how long yours will take. Nothing to pay until you book.

How do you choose the right tutor for my child?

From what you tell us: level, subject, online or at home, your area and the times that work for you. The office matches your child with a vetted tutor who actually fits — and you see the exact price before you pay anything. The first lesson tells the rest: if it is not right, we match again.

What happens if my child and their tutor aren’t a good match?

Tell us after the first lesson and we will match you with someone else. There is no contract and no subscription — you are never locked in.

Are tutors available in my area?

For lessons at home we cover areas around Kampala; online lessons work anywhere in Uganda. Wherever you are, send your request anyway — where families ask, we recruit.

Can my child have lessons online or in person?

Either — you choose when you book. An in-person lesson happens at your home, and may add a small transport supplement, shown before you book. Online lessons run in our own live classroom.

What do we need for an online tutoring session?

Any smart device — a tablet, a laptop, or the family phone. Lessons run on voice and the shared board, not video, so they cost far less data than a video call. There is nothing to install: the classroom, whiteboard and practice all open in the browser.

How long is each tutoring session?

About an hour. The research on one-to-one tutoring is consistent: two or three short lessons a week beat one long one — which is why we price per lesson, so you can do exactly that.

If your child needs longer — a paper to work through, an exam close — say so when you request a tutor and we will arrange it. The price on your booking link covers the time agreed, and you see it before you pay.

Can we choose the days and times for lessons?

Yes. Tell us the times that work when you request a tutor, and we match someone available then. You can also make any lesson a weekly slot — booked once, scheduled for you, stopped any time.

Can we pay for tutoring one lesson at a time?

Yes. Every lesson is paid on its own, by mobile money, after we confirm it. No subscription, no joining fee.

Can we cancel or reschedule a lesson?

Yes. Up to 24 hours before the lesson, moving or cancelling is free — money already paid becomes credit for the next lesson. Inside 24 hours, call us and we will do our best. If a lesson ever fails on our side, we make it right with you directly.

How do you ensure tutors are qualified and trustworthy?

Every tutor is vetted — identity and quality checked by us, in person, before they ever meet your child. The standard is simple: we only send someone we would trust with our own child, alone. Your money adds a second protection: it is held by us and released to the tutor only after the lesson happens — and you are welcome to sit in on any first lesson.

How is my child’s personal information protected?

We ask for your child's first name only, and your phone number. We do not sell data, and we do not give your number to a tutor until a booking is confirmed.

What if tutoring is not what my child actually needs?

Then we will tell you. A sudden drop in marks sometimes has a cause outside the classroom, and more lessons can make it worse. Say so on the request form — or just tell us — and someone from our office calls you before we match anyone: a private conversation, free, no obligation. If tutoring is the right answer, we match you then. If it is not, we say so and you spend nothing.

Still not sure?

Tell us what your child needs and the office does the finding. Being matched is free, and there is nothing to pay until you book.
